Support Camp Barney Medintz

Camp Barney Medintz has a rich tradition of alumni, families, and community supporters coming together to provide support for CBM to keep our program thriving, enabling us to impact thousands of Jewish lives each year.

Camp Barney Medintz is proud of the reputation “Our Summer Place” has established as a leader among Jewish overnight camps in the country. First rate activities and extraordinary staff have continued to attract campers to our North Georgia mountain retreat for more than 50 summers.

Jewish camping is powerful and transformative. Generation after generation of Jewish children have been influenced and invigorated by their Jewish heritage and Jewish identity after spending their summer at Camp Barney Medintz. Jewish campers grow up to be connected to Jewish life and identify proudly within the Jewish community as adults.

Recently, The Foundation for Jewish Camp produced a study to determine the impact of Jewish Summer Camp on our participants. The results of the study proved that:

“Camp attendance increases the likelihood of adult participation and identification in every one of these areas. As adults, campers are:

  • 30% more likely to donate to a Jewish charity;
  • 37% more likely to light Shabbat candles;
  • 45% more likely to attend synagogue monthly or more; and
  • 55% more likely to be very emotionally attached to Israel.”

Camp Barney Medintz relies on your generosity – and we ask that you invest in the future of the Jewish community by contributing today.

The Capital Campaign for the Marcus JCC of Atlanta

The Capital Campaign for the Marcus JCC of Atlanta is a $36+ million fundraising initiative that will strengthen our ability to serve our entire community, enable us to develop new facilities to support our innovative and transformational programs, and ensure we deliver even greater impact for the next generation of Jewish Atlanta.

Our vision for Camp Barney Medintz is to expand our impact and create new ways for our community to connect. Families know that summers at Camp Barney Medintz are transformational for their children’s Jewish connection and they expect facilities that will enhance that experience. We must ensure that camp facilities match the exceptional programming taking place. While capital investments are made every year in the camp’s infrastructure, Camp Barney Medintz requires a significant overhaul to remain attractive and viable for the next generation of campers and counselors.

Critical Improvements Include: Rebuilding bathhouses, rebuilding and/or renovating camper cabins, constructing a new adult housing structure, and improving plumbing infrastructure.
