For more than six decades, Camp Barney Medintz has been the heart of Jewish summers in Atlanta and across the Southeast. Set on 550 acres in the North Georgia mountains—with two private lakes, soaring trees, open skies, and cabins where friendships form before lights-out—Camp Barney Medintz is where children discover confidence, independence, joy, and Jewish pride.
It is where they learn who they are when the world falls away. Where best friends are made paddling across Lake Wendy, where campers gather the courage to jump off The Blob, and where a teen leads Shabbat services. This is Our Summer Place—a place that shapes Jewish lives quietly, powerfully, and forever.
But the Camp Barney Medintz we love was built decades ago and now requires significant reinvestment. Cabins, docks, trails, roads, water and power systems, and aquatics facilities must be preserved and modernized.
Excellence also demands sustained resources—certified waterfront and wilderness staff, licensed mental health professionals, and salaries that allow us to recruit and retain outstanding counselors. Families depend on camperships, inclusion supports, and accessibility services.
Camp Barney Medintz has always delivered magic. But maintaining that magic takes permanent, reliable support.
