How to Apply
Domestic staff members
Domestic staff applications for Summer 2027 will open on September 28, 2026 for returning staff and October 5, 2026 for new staff. Please return to this page on that date and follow the instructions below to apply.
- Complete the employment application.
- New staff members are required to submit three references. The reference form will be emailed to your identified references upon submission of your application. Your references should be non-relatives who have observed your character and work ethic in an employment, academic, athletic, or social leadership position. Please ask your references to submit the form within 1 week of receiving the request.
- Within one week of submitting your application, we will email you a Calendly link to schedule a Zoom interview with a member of our full-time team. New applicants must ensure that all of their references have been submitted prior to their interview date.

Returning Staff: Apply by logging in to your Camp Account, beginning on September 28, 2026. Please use your email from last year. If you have a new one, it can be changed later.
International staff members
Apply now through a staffing agency such as Camp America, Camp Leaders, or JAFI and request to be interviewed by Camp Barney Medintz.
Interested in working at Camp Barney Medintz as a direct-placement international staff member? Direct placement allows you to apply specifically to Camp Barney Medintz, rather than being matched with a camp later in the process. This is ideal for candidates being referred to us by a current/past staff member and want to skip the matching process that sponsoring agencies will conduct. To begin, complete our online staff application directly with Camp Barney Medintz. Selected applicants will participate in a virtual interview with a member of our hiring team. If Camp Barney Medintz offers you a position, you will then register with an approved visa-sponsoring agency as a direct-placement applicant and complete all required steps for the J-1 visa process. Your employment is contingent upon successful agency approval, visa eligibility, and completion of all required camp and sponsoring-agency paperwork.
Refer a Friend to Work
For our returning Staff and former Campers: We know that some of our best staff come from personal connections. If you refer someone who joins our staff team, you’ll receive a bonus of $400 for each domestic staff member or direct-placement international staff member hired, and $100 for each non-direct placement international staff member hired. To ensure you receive credit, the staff member you refer must list your name on their application.
