Food at Camp
Camp Barney is very deliberate and intentional in ensuring our campers are well-fed, energized, and enjoying every meal. Under the leadership of our incredible Food Service Director, who is dedicated to Camp Barney year-round and with us at camp all summer, our dining program is thoughtful, delicious, and designed to meet the needs of every camper.
Our 18,000 sq ft. historic timber Alterman Lodge (dining hall) is a centerpiece of life at Camp Barney. It truly embodies our sense of community. Three meals each day are served family-style from our kosher kitchen.
Our chef and culinary team also prepare for and seamlessly accommodate special diets and food allergies. Camp Barney Medintz is a nut-free camp. This policy ensures the safety and comfort of our campers and staff with nut allergies. And for those who love peanut butter, Wow Butter is available at every meal.
Campers always have lots of options. Each mealtime features:
- A hearty entrée and sides
- An extensive sandwich bar
- A pasta station
- A fresh and plentiful salad and fruit bar
“My daughter has a lot of food allergies, but at Camp Barney she never felt different. She could get the meals she needed without any fuss or extra attention, just like every other kid. That sense of ‘normal’ meant everything.” -Karly Y., Camp Barney Parent
